Level 1.5 is for Salsa Beginners.
Salsa 1.5 is a transitional class built for dancers who have completed Level 1 and want more time to solidify their foundation before jumping into faster or more complex material. In this course, we review and reinforce key fundamentals like basic step mechanics, partner connection, and rhythm, while introducing new variations in turn patterns, directional changes, and smoother transitions.
You’ll work on drills that build confidence in your timing and footwork, and gain more comfort with dancing socially. This level is ideal for students who learn best with repetition, want to improve their precision, or are returning to classes after a break. By the end of this level, you’ll feel more prepared and empowered to move on to Salsa Level 2.
Students are encouraged to remain in this level for about 2–4 months (2–4 four-week cycles), depending on their comfort and readiness to move on to Level 2.
